MISSIONS OUTREACH

Media Ministry

Since the 1970s

Media Ministry has been an important part of FBC’s emphasis on missions and evangelism since the early 1970s. Church services have been televised locally for nearly 40 years, and we currently rebroadcast Sunday morning’s Worship Service at 8:00am each week on FOX West Texas (Channel 19, Suddenlink Channel 10/110 and DISH Network Channel 6) and at 10:00 am on My San Angelo (Suddenlink Channel 141). In addition to our television ministry, the service is broadcast live on the radio on KCLL 100.1FM. You can also hear devotional messages called “Pause and Ponder” each weekday morning and afternoon on KCLL.

The morning Worship Service is also streamed live on this website. All broadcasts which have been streamed live are archived and available 24/7 on our website through our YouTube channel.

River Ministry Mission Trip

Del Rio, Texas/July 26-29, 2022

We will again partner with Shon and Janeen Young to serve with the Texas Baptist River Ministry. This trip is open to all ages; however, all children who haven’t reached sixth grade must travel with a parent. The cost is $100 which covers transportation, lodging and food.

If you are interested in this trip, please contact Erin Medina (325.655.4101 or medina@fbcsanangelotx.org) by July 15.

Neighbors Cafe

Neighbors Café recently celebrated its 5th year of service in San Angelo, after opening its doors in March 2017. However, the work began 5 years earlier, when Charlie and Judy Smith were obedient to a call the Lord placed on Judy’s heart to feed the hungry. The ministry started out cooking and serving one day a week, but now prepares meals each Monday through Friday, 11:30 am – 12:30 pm.
Volunteers are always welcome and there is something for everyone…all ages and abilities! You can come as an individual or perhaps you are a member of an organization that would like to serve as a group. If you are interested in more details, call the church office at 325-655-4101 and we will put you in touch with Judy.

Threads of Blessing

Threads of Blessing is a ministry of quilters who make and donate quilts and blankets. They are actively engaged in providing warmth and comfort to members of First Baptist Church and the community. They meet once a month to coordinate their projects and gather their fabrics and supplies from their supply room at First Place. They cut and piece their quilt tops at home and then use the long-arm quilter at the Tom Green County Library to stitch pieced tops, batting, and backing together.
Threads of Blessing exists because these quilters take joy in using their gifts to serve others. They use donated fabrics, or they buy their own. Sometimes they accept reimbursement for fabrics and specialty items like quilt backing and batting from an account set up in the church. They are generous with their time and resources, and each quilt is an expression of love and caring.
If you enjoy quilting and want to learn more about this group, contact the church office and we will put you in touch with the team.
